Montebello council agrees to district elections

Reluctant Council members on Wednesday, May 26 voted to begin the process of electing council members by district and avoid facing a costly lawsuit. The council voted 4-0, with Mayor Kimberly Cobos-Cawthorne abstaining to switch to district elections from the existing at-large system where voters elect all five members.
