Historic Hotel Location Has Closed After 86 Years

The Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica is closing to end May, ending an 86-year run of hospitality in the area. The Shangri-La was acquired by San Francisco-based tech company Sonder in 2023, and was renamed to "The Beacon."
