Admission Day: California admitted to United States 173 years ago

In 1925, Orange County was decorated with Diamond Jubilee colors commemorating the state’s 75 th anniversary, and nearly 200,000 people flocked to the streets of Santa Monica in 1937 to watch a five-mile parade depicting periods of California history.
